It's a good thing... A merry heart is
one who is always rejoicing in the Lord. No matter what is going on around us, we can choose to rejoice in the Lord- in His goodness, in His faithfulness, in His love. To Have a Merry Heart, Meditate on the Word of God. It's in the Bible :

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.

A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is crushed.
